Fall Leaf Program

The City of Mount Carmel’s annual leaf collection program provides residents with an alternate way to dispose of their leaves. Residents who do not mulch or bag their leaves may simply rake leaves to the curb. Leaves should be placed in piles no greater than 5' in width. Beginning the week of November 1st and continuing through January 1st.

Public Works crews will make one pass by each house within the corporate city limits every 3rd week during the program.

Vacuum hose machines are used to pick up leaves. Leaves should be raked neatly, as close to the curb as possible, so long as they are not placed in the street or on cross walks. Doing this causes safety hazards to pedestrians and drivers.

Routes will be as follows During Leaf Season:

  • subdivisions on North Cherry Street and head North towards the Park Road area.
  • We will then head towards Lambert Drive and start on Oak Street.
  • From there we will do the North and South roads from Oak to Market.
  • Then we will do the West and East roads from 1st to the Middle School.
  • From there we will start on Market and head towards Peach Street going North and South
  • then do West and East Streets from 1st to 13th.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the Street Department at (618) 262-2358.

Routes will be as follows the rest of the year:
  • Fridays we will pick up piles that we see during our brush routes.
  • If you have a pile you would like picked up on Fridays you can call 618-262-4822
