STORM WATER DRAINAGE
The Street Department is responsible for maintenance and installation of storm drainage pipe. Maintenance includes removal of obstructions in the pipe and intake locations that inhibit the flow of water to prevent unnecessary flooding.
STORM DEBRIS
After hours contact the Police Department at (618) 262-4114 for any storm debris located on City right of way. Any debris on private property will be handled as regular brush/trash collection. (See Yard waste collection.) Contact the Public Works Department for any questions (618) 263-1130.
ROAD BUILDING
The Street Department is also responsible for road building and resurfacing of City streets. We actively repair potholes. For any repairs needed or information concerning building resurfacing or potholes contact the Public Works Department.
STREET SIGNS
Signs are installed or replaced by street department personnel per information received by the police department, citizens, or other sources. All citizens are encouraged to inform the Public Works Department of any sign problems.
