The City of Mt. Carmel is accepting resumes for the position of Public Works Director. The Mt. Carmel Public Works Director responsibilities are as follows:

The Public Works Director shall direct employees to perform such functions and duties within his or her departments.

The Public works director shall be responsible for repairs and maintenance within budget constraints determined by the Mayor and City Council.

The Public Works Director shall have discretionary authority to select and adopt policies and plans for the care and maintenance of public infrastructure, including but not limited to streets, parking lots, sidewalks, boulevards, trees, and vegetation, public spaces, buildings, parks, sewers, and water infrastructure. In considering policies and/or plans for City infrastructure maintenance’

 The Public Works Director shall maintain the city website, city Ordinances, and resolutions.

Public Works director shall maintain all state records for burial at City Owned cemeteries.

The Public Works director will work closely with contracted engineers for maintenance of his departments.

Applicants with waste water management, experience in construction management (residential and commercial), familiar with web design, and general IT trouble shooting are desired.
