Mount Carmel's Public Works departments manage the city's transportation systems, levee systems, Parks, Recreation, cemeteries,  solid waste management services,  storm water, drinking water, and sewer systems to enhance the quality of life for the Mount Carmel community.
 

Major Goals of the Departments
  • Protect the City's investment in its roadway, drainage, bicycle and sidewalk facilities by the planning, implementation, and administration of maintenance, inspection and improvement programs.
  • Protect the city's natural resources in a manner compatible with policies, codes, and regulations.
  • Provide effective, efficient, safe and environmentally sensitive mosquito control services.
  • Provide quality solid waste management services to the community
